
Jim Welty is the president of the Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC), Pennsylvania’s leading trade association for unconventional shale gas development. In this role, he oversees daily operations, serves as the organization’s chief spokesperson, and engages stakeholders regarding the safe development of our abundant natural gas resources.
He joined the MSC in 2013 as vice president of government affairs, managing legislative activities, regulatory oversight, and grassroots engagement. His background includes representation of global exploration and production companies at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney and K&L Gates. His extensive policy experience also includes leadership roles with the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, the National Federation of Independent Business, and the Pennsylvania Bankers Association.
Jim is a graduate of Westminster College and Widener University School of Law.
